As darkness stalked the mid-night sky
As the grave north wind did blow
Alone I sat but to wonder why
With but my candles soft warm glow

The winters' wind was howling loud
Seem the walls did now creak and moan
And the snow did cast and eerie shroud
Yet, strange peace, safe be mine at home

With the pure white snow 'afalling
A fresh new blanket now covered the land
Through the window I was watching
Natures' furious yet beautiful hand

Late into the eve in thought I spent
'Till a mind so weary that now needs rest
To bed so warm in dream now sent
'Neath the covers curled it becomes my nest

With mornings call still dim is the light
Thoe white are the waves of wind blown snow
For the storm did rage throughout the night
Where-as the new day now did show

"Me"
