I've spoke of tears, of what they mean
Of both good and bad times I have seen
But of all I've said, I now recall
It was the smiles that told it all
From that childish smile, that impish grin
To that bold, proud smile when chance we win
And that warm smile with a comforting tone
Which truly understands the pain we have known
That special glimmer of a new daddies smile
For the joy and pride of his new born child
Then there is one only a woman shall know
As it's the smile reflecting motherhood's glow
As to a man and woman as a smile brings
Their day of exchanging both vows and rings
With a soft and warm and loving stare
And a smile from thoughts of a life they'll share
For it has been a smile which tells a heart
If it's time for laughter or tears to start
Yes as smiles can be either warm or cold
With the smiles come their own story told
"Me"
