To near the waking hour spent
In dream alone, 'twas now I sent
There be the sight of child like jeers
But reflect did they adulthood fears
'Neigh down a lone forsaken path
My mortal being now was cast
See faces carved of granite stone
I walked this trial so much alone
The stage beset with shattered dreams
There lost a new found love did seem
Was then when tears now filled my eyes
In retrospect I could but only cry
For 'twas the loss of a cherished friend
More so had we met the lovers end
To wake now with mine eyes still filled
And soul to spine with a wintry chill
Perhaps but a nightmare this vision be
By chance but a dream is what I see
So forgive me love for whence I fail
Let your special smile now tell the tale
"Me"
